Ingredients:
- 3 cloves chopped garlic
- 1/4 cup chopped ginger
- 1/4 cup Norm’s Farms Elderberry Jam or for a lower sugar alternative try Norm’s Farms Wellness Syrup
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes - optional
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds - optional
Add all the ingredients in a sauce pan and boil for 5 minutes. It should start to bubble and thicken as the sauce reduces. Be careful to not reduce this too much as it will start to burn, so keep a careful watch on it. The sauce will thicken more as it cools so it may appear thinner when it’s hot. Its final consistency should be thick like honey once it’s cooled completely.
You can slather, dip or scoop as you wish on you favorite foods. It’s a sure to please picnic favorite!
