Elderberry Jam Festival 2015
August 7, 8 and 9 2015Every year in August our elderberry farm becomes home to Elderberry Jam, an annual outdoor music festival set on 176 acres in the rolling river hills of Hartsburg, Mo. Jake West and Andi Green are the heart and soul of this music festival, combining their passions for great music, building community and being outdoors in one great event known as Elderberry Jam. This year’s fest features 2 full days of live music under the sun and stars, the “Git’ Up & Git’ Down” Breakfast on Saturday morning hosted by Columbia’s own Dave and Dyno & the Roadkill Orchestra, and Sunday Fun Day, a day to swim, relax and unwind, make your own music and spend time with friends old and new.
This year’s musical line-up includes Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy, Strange Owls, OD Joe, Stone Sugar Shakedown, and local Columbia Missouri favorites like Mercer and Johnson, Driving Wheel, Don’t Mind Dying and Oversite Committee. Check out the Elderberry Jam Event Page for a complete line up and links to the bands.
The three day festival includes free camping, free workshops for adults and kids, guided nature tours, educational workshops, and a vendor row full of local crafts people and food artisans.

Some of the free workshops include morning yoga, a primer on organic gardening, and a guided hunt for edible and medicinal “weeds” on the farm. Rodger will be giving tours of the elderberry orchards and discussing the restorative agriculture practices we are using to make the elderberries happy and healthy. Elderberry Jam is a family friendly event with lots of fun activities for the kids, too. Kid centered workshops include Hula Hoop making (completely free!) and Hoop Art Tapestries where each participant gets to make and take home their own hoops and tapestries.
Other fun activities for kids include a twister tournament, a scavenger hunt, and the roaming Balloon Ninja who will be on site making fascinating balloon creations for kids of all ages.
The camp decoration contest theme for this year is “Christmas in August”…there will be a winner!
Tickets can be purchased on site at the ticket booth. Tickets prices are $50.00 for Friday, Saturday and Sunday or $25.00 for Saturday and Sunday only. Follow Elderberry Jam through the Elderberry Jam Facebook Event Page for updates, and hope to see you on the farm!
