Hello, my fellow elderberry lovers! I would like to introduce myself, my name is Kylie Weems and I am new to the Norm’s Farms team. I have been hired as the Marketing Assistant for Norm’s Farms and would like to tell you a few things about myself!

Meet Kylie Weems
I grew up in the town of Springfield, Missouri and still reside there now. Springfield is, and always will be my home. Although I love where I am from, I enjoy traveling very much. I have a wide range of interests, so I absolutely love the city as well as the country. I know that no matter how far I may travel, I will always end up back near my hometown because I have such a tight knit family. I am very close with my parents, sister, brother in-law, my boyfriend Jace, and of course MY dog, Milo. Okay… he actually is my parents dog, but he was mine growing up and it was the hardest thing leaving him when I moved out for college. Luckily, I still see him all the time! My family members are truly my best friends and I am very lucky that we all live so close to each other. Springfield is about an hour away from Purdy, Missouri which is where we are located here at Norm’s Farms. My mother grew up here in Purdy, so it is pretty neat that I get to experience the town in which she was raised.

Something that most people know about me is that I have a very soft spot in my heart for all animals. Growing up I always wanted to be a Marine Biologist or a Veterinarian. But as you read on, you will see how often I have changed my mind about this. And it is A LOT. Some people may say I am a bit indecisive. But I like to think that I just have a broad set of interests! Anyways, there is not a single animal that I do not absolutely adore. I am looking forward to one day moving out of my apartment and into my own home, so I am able to rescue my own dogs and give them a great life! Eventually I will want all kinds of farm animals too! In the past, I never considered having farm animals until I met my boyfriend Jace. Jace and his family have the same kind of soft spot for animals and seemed to have raised every kind of animal at some point, even the wild ones want to hang around their yard sometimes. Currently, they have baby raccoons making themselves at home in their yard. We have become very fond of these animals and love to play with them, feed them, and watch them grow up. Animals will always and forever be close to my heart!

I am currently finishing my last year at Missouri State University where I have studied Marketing, as well as Product Development/Fashion Merchandising. I will be receiving my Bachelor’s in Science in the College of Business here. Seeing that I am going into sales and marketing for my profession, a lot of people are surprised that I study fashion as well. If you really know me though, it is not very shocking. I grew up sketching clothing garments for as long as I could remember, it was definitely a first love of mine. Once I got into school and started studying fashion, I realized I had more of a passion for merchandising rather than design. This led me to take more business classes such as sales, accounting, and marketing. After being in these classes, I realized that I wanted to go a different route and pursue marketing, so I added it as a minor. I was so interested in anything that had to do with marketing, advertising, and even any kind of sales. I was very eager to start a career and do all of this for a company and/or a product that I was passionate about! Around this time last year, I got really into health and fitness. I wanted to learn as much as possible about taking good care of my body, and the best ways to do so. I found that being as natural as possible was the way to go. I now try and practice this by eating mostly real, whole foods, taking my vitamins and supplements needed, and being active. I got very passionate about this and thought about changing my major AGAIN and becoming a naturopath. (I clearly have too many interests for my own good!) Fortunately, I was introduced to elderberry by a good family friend of mine, Devon, who is one of the co-owners of Norm’s Farms. His passion for elderberry really intrigued me and, after learning all about the health benefits of elderberry, I was a convert and threw my name in the hat for a summer internship position. I completed my internship this past summer and gladly accepted a part time position here at Norm’s Farms while I finish up my degree, and plan to go full time this Spring after I graduate! I am thrilled and very thankful that I get to combine my love for health and marketing while working here. On top of that, the Norm’s Farms family is an incredible team to work with. I am learning so many things from the founders, Ann and Rodger, and the whole staff. I cannot wait to meet more elderberry lovers and see what our products can do for them!
