According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), there have been at least 6.4 million flu illnesses, 55,000 hospitalizations and 2,900 deaths from flu during 2019-2020 Flu season, so far. This year’s flu season threatens to be as severe as the 2017-2018 season, and the CDC is recommending that people get their flu shots and antiviral medications.
The CDC provides a very helpful flu tracking website which provides information about where flu outbreaks are occurring and other very helpful information, like how this year’s flu season compares to previous years, how flu spreads from one person to another, when those sick with the flu are most contagious and recommended treatments for the flu.
