What is an Elderberry in Other Languages

An elderberry by another name is still an elderberry.  But in other countries, it goes by a host of different names, including holunder, flader, sureau, and sauco.  Here's the word for  elderberry in other languages, including most of the better known ones:
  • The old herbal’s and apothecaries' name for elderberries was "Fructus Sambuci."

Other names for the elderberry plant include Common Elderberry, Black Elder, Bore Tree, Bour Tree, Boortree, Common Elder, Eldrum, Ellhorn, European Alder, Hylder, Hylantree, Hylder, Pipe Tree.
