ElderCran Protein Smoothie
Smoothies are a great option for a quick and portable breakfast and work so well as a tasty vehicle for your daily serving of elderberry. The beauty of ElderCran is that it delivers an immune system boost and also promotes a healthy urinary tract too. The trick to creating a great smoothie is to avoid using too many sweet ingredients and that also includes using too much raw fruit. Keeping the sugar content low protects you from the energy boost and crash associated with consuming too much sugar, and that goes for natural sugars too. As we’ve all heard, breakfast is often the most important meal of the day. If you want a breakfast that will tide you over to lunchtime and give you the most optimal start to your day, its best to focus on eating healthy sources of protein and fat. Fiber is also a great addition to a smoothie. This recipe makes one serving and contains 250 calories, 13 grams of healthy fats, 19 grams of carbohydrates and 22 grams of protein per serving.

You can change and add ingredients to this recipe to "shake it up" and delight your palate with new and interesting flavors. Try substituting fresh strawberries, raspberries, or blackberries for the blueberries. You can also substitute almond or cashew butter for the peanut butter. While this recipe calls for unsweetened plain coconut milk because it is so low in calorie and full of "good for you" fats, you can substitute cow, almond, oat and other kinds of "milk" for the coconut milk too. To boost the fiber content, try adding a handful or two of fresh baby spinach...you won't even taste it!
