Elderberry Jam Appetizers are our favorite way to sample our jams, jellies and preserves! We love to watch the expressions of surprise and delight wash over people’s faces. One person described his experience as ” Amazing! It’s like a symphony of flavors in my mouth!” These delicious little bursts of flavor require only four ingredients, and take less than 15 minutes to make. They also pair nicely with white wine, tea and our easy-to-make Elderberry Spritzer.
1 high quality baguette
1 packaged fresh mint (spearmint is preferred)
1 8 oz container of whipped Greek Cream Cheese or 8 oz spreadable mild goat cheese
1 jar of either Elderberry Jelly, Elderberry Jam, Elderberry Ginger Pecan Jam or Blueberry Elderberry Preserves. (Use your favorite; you can’t go wrong!)
Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch slices (or save time and have the baker slice it for you).
Spread each slice with a dollop of cream cheese. Top the cream cheese with a small piece of mint, and top the mint with about 1/2 to 3/4 tsp of your favorite Elderberry Jam, Jelly or Preserve. Arrange appetizers on a pretty plate and serve.
